Auvergne country of natural tourism
Country of volcanos, and lakes of mountain, Auvergne is the ideal area for at the same time family and sporting tourism. Its numerous thermal spas known for their waters attract more and more tourists who associate therapeutic treatments in a festive environment .
The gastronomy close to that of the Sud Ouest is reserved to the amateurs of good food : cheese (Saint-Nectaire, Cantal…) pork-butchery (ham of Auvergne) tripoux, with wines less prestigious than the vintages of Burgundy or Bordeaux but nevertheless extremely appreciated.
Via Podiensis is one of the Roads of Chemin de saint Jacques de Compostelle. On the basis of Puy in Veslais, it constitutes today the GR65 course of excursion where love of nature and philosophical search are mixed.
On a cultural level, the area proposes many events and in particular the International festival of the Short film which proceeds every year in February in Clermont-Ferrand.

To exactly choose its season in Auvergne
August and July are traditionally the months of crowd in the seaside resorts, but also the period end of December turn of January and holidays of February in the winter sports resorts. For these periods it can be useful to contact a reservation office.
September and June constitute the mid season.
Lastly, the pensioners will appreciate to leave on holiday in March, April, May, October or November in the south of France to be given a soft climate and better tariffs from seasonal hiring.
