4 villages ( Les Rousses, Premanon, Lamoura and Bois of Upstream), form the winter sports resort of Les Rousses.
The amateurs of Alpine skiing profit from a 50 kilometers long skiable field, distributed on 6 fields. Amateurs of cross-country skiing have 220 kilometers of tracks at their disposal. For the hikers in rackets, several formulas are possible (course on marked out paths, or off the tracks, in the fields located around the station. The local ski schools give private or collectives lessons, for beginners or experienced skiers. One teaches there Alpine or Scandinavian skiing , surfing, racket. There exist also courses intended for the handicapped people. Les Rousses set up various structures for the leisures of the children (initiation for the 3/4 years, spaces toboggans, course of ski for the more than 4 years children, contest of snowmen…). The sport stores of the villages of the station sell or rent the material and the equipment relating to the practiced activity. Les Rousses is close to Switzerland, and certain tracks cross the border.
Event: The Festival of Polar and Mountain Film takes place at the village of Prémanon in December, under the aegis of the Paul-Emile Victor Polar Center. Let us recall that this famous explorer was a native from Prémanon.
The children will appreciate, at the time of a stay in Lons-le-Saulnier, the visit of the House of the "Vache Qui Rit, where is manufactured this spread cheese that everyone ate at least once in one's life.
